Running: Getting Started

Running. The R word. The commonly cited way to lose some weight. It can be a little bit intimidating, but it really needn't be.

As a species, we've been running since we first figured out what our legs are for. Whilst the past required it for survival, it is now an entirely optional activity. If you want, you can spend decades never going faster than a brisk walk. But... where's the fun in that? Luckily, getting started is far easier than most other methods of exercising; you already have everything you need! Legs, and motivation.

In this series of posts, we'll discuss the bare essentials of starting running, and taking your first step(s) towards a healthier life.
